AUDIT AND ENERGY MANAGEMENT SERVICES

ENERGY MANAGEMENT SERVICES WITH HOLISTIC APPROACH

We offer Energy management services with holistic and system approach.

What is Holistic Energy Management and why it is provides guaranteed substantial energy cost reduction with no or least investment

Holistic (holism) implies an approach or process, which enables integration of multiple streams. The Holistic Energy Management model, is capable to macro-observe the energy streams within and around processes, optimally combining the inputs and outputs in a unique way that filters all decisions through ROI boundaries.

Holistic Energy Management will

Examine all energy flows from start to end, to judge their recovery and combining potential

Consider, analyse, calculate and interconnect a series of technologies suitable for process optimization

Suggest final solutions that will ensure the best possible ROI

Determine the optimum work sequence of energy investments' implementation

Factors Governing Efficiency are

Efficiency of energy conversion

Operating point ( loading)

Electrical environment

Physical environment

Derating

Maintenance

No of stages in energy conversion and transfer

Two philosophies used during Energy Audits are

Equipment Level assessment in isolation

Involves performance analysis of equipment by isolating from System considering one or two parameters .

Disadvantages :

  • No guarantee of Energy Saving or less saving .In Few cases results into increase in Energy Consumption .
  • Financial resources are used not used effectively .

System level assessment with holistic Approach

Takes into account impact of all parameters and interconnected Equipments in system while performing Energy efficiency analysis .Analysis is done from process parameters requirement analysis to process and utility system in integrated manner considering all parameters and stages which governs overall efficiency of system .

Benefits of System level assessment with holistic Approach :

  • Reduction in overall Energy cost , maintenance cost , increase in productivity , reliability and quality .
  • Guaranteed energy cost reduction by selection of best Energy conservation measure by evaluation of all possible ECMs.
  • Substantial Energy cost reduction with Least Investment .
  • No investment potential between 3-7% .
  • Clearly defined Encon Projects

1) Walk Through Audits:

Walk through or Level -1 Energy audit is performed by team of Energy experts in various domains to identify no or low investment Energy saving opportunities by walk through of plant , and study of available data and to identify total Energy saving potential though comprehensive Energy Audit .

2) Detailed or comprehensive Energy Audit with system and Holistic Approach

System level assessment involving holistic approach is used .Detailed studies of process and utility systems involving material and mass balance , energy performance analysis of equipment’s and systems is carried out by team of domain Experts in Electrical , mechanical , thermal , HVAC , Compressed air and process by using state of art testing and measurement Equipments . Study of all parameters governing Energy losses and wastages are identified in critical manner .All principles of Energy management are applied and Energy cost reduction opportunities are evaluated . For Every energy conservation opportunity multiple Energy conservation measures are evaluated and best Energy conservation measure is suggested and documented in Final Energy audit report with techno-commercial Analysis .System level assessment by study of process and utility parameters in holistic ways provides very good energy saving potential with no or low investment .Parametric co-relation and optimization without deviating process requirement results into substantial Energy saving without investment .No investment energy saving measures are identified and implemented during Energy audit phase on immediate basis .

3) Energy performance assessment of Thermal /HVAC/Compressed Air utility Systems

We conduct detailed performance assessment of various utility systems by studying process utility parameter requirement , detailed measurement , analysis of utility systems and equipments at generation , distribution and utilization stages .Detailed parametric study , their interdependence and factors governing operational and energy performance are analyzed to identify Energy conservation opportunities .Energy efficiency improvement solutions are evaluated and best solution is recommended .Actual performance parameters are compared with rated OEM rated performance parameters to identify gaps and recommend appropriate action plan to enhance operational and efficiency performance which helps to extent life of utility systems .

4) Compressed Air Leak Detection:

Leakages in compressed Air system are common and leads to substantial Energy wastages .Higher leakage rate demands for increase of load /unload pressure setting of air compressors which results into increase in energy consumption .Compressed Air leakages in distribution header and utilization points are conducted using Ultrasonic Leak detectors .Amount of Energy wasted in compressed air leakages is quantified .Tagging is done at leakage point .Detailed report is submitted with energy saving potential .

5) Energy baseline , benchmarking , Target setting and Draft of Energy Management Policy /Handbook

For sustainable Energy cost reduction by implementation of Energy management systems such as ISO50001 is need of hour .PDCA approach demands Energy baseline establishment ,detailed Energy resources analysis , Energy cost centers definitions ,identification of major areas of Energy consumption , study of Existing Energy monitoring system, important factors governing Energy Efficiency and fixed /variable energy consumption , present KPI. Drafting of Energy policy of organization based on detailed study is done .Detailed report with Energy baseline , KPI , Benchmarking and target setting is submitted .

6) Branch Circuit and Transformer Loss Evaluation :

In large Industrial and commercial premises branch circuit loss in cables and transformers is significant .Transformer operational efficiency is key to keep transformer losses at minimum .Focus on transformer and branch circuit losses in not given in Energy management and cost reduction projects .Reasons of higher transformer losses are operation of transformer away from Maximum efficiency point , inadequate reactive power compensation considering only billing benefits , Higher RMS voltage and harmonic distortion , cascading of multiple Voltage regulation devices. Even fractional decrement in transformer Operational efficiency results into substantial energy loss and cost .Cable branch circuit losses are higher due to centralized reactive power compensation .Detailed transformer loss evaluation and branch circuit loss measurement is carried out by simultaneous Power quality measurement using High accuracy power quality analyzers. Higher loss areas and factors governing are identified . Detailed report with recommendation with action plan is prepared with payback analysis .

7) GREEN AUDITS :

Green audit of educational campuses are required for NAAC accreditation . Various activities carried out during green audit are energy audit to identify energy conservation opportunities , extent to which natural resources are used to meet indoor illumination and ventilation , extent to which fuel and energy substitution initiatives are undertaken , renewable energy on campus generation .Water services audit is carried out by study of water resources , water consumption , water conservation initiative , rain water harvesting , recycle and reuse of waste water .Study of waste generation and utilization is done , analysis of various wastages generated , opportunities to minimize waste generation , extent to which waste is recycled and reused .Study of E waste generation and management initiatives undertaken .Indoor air quality assessment is carried out .Detailed green audit report with documentation , analysis of data with observation and recommendation is submitted .

8) HVAC AUDIT OF DATA CENTERS:

Scope of Work:

There are 4 stage in the Audit which are,

1. Design Review

2. Site visit /Walk through

3. Inspection and Measurement

4. Detailed Report submission
